Eckhart Tolle & The Power of Now

The Power of Now and Stillness Speaks by Eckhart Tolle are brilliant teachings that resonate very well with Wholeness Work. Writing from the thoughtless awareness of pure presence, Eckhart articulates the 'perennial philosophy' much more clearly than possible for those teaching within the form of a religion, 'spiritual path' or other defined belief system.

Eckhart often reminds us that the words he uses cannot say what is true. Words, being thought-based, can only point toward our true identities grounded in the profound presence that is beyond thought and form.

Eckhart's teachings focus on moving beyond the ego, the mind and thinking to the deeper regions of consciousness hidden in the present moment. His teachings are in the realm of pure consciousness, pure spirit. But unlike a great many 'spiritual' teachers past and present, he also has a deep respect for sentient awareness.

The driving backwards practice is an easy way to learn how to come out of the thinking mind and 'the future,' and settle into the spaciousness of the present moment. This is important in Wholeness Work, because healing happens when loving consciousness is aligned with a suffering part of sentient awareness, either body or emotions. And sentience is only possible in the present moment.
